The Hanging Club

Role: director / lead designer

Trailer for Tony Parsons' latest crime novel, The Hanging Club. The third book in his best-selling DC Max Wolfe series, it sees a band of vigilante executioners roam London's hot summer nights, abducting evil men and hanging them by the neck until dead. As the bodies pile up and riots explode all over the sweltering city, DC Max Wolfe embarks on his most dangerous investigation yet, hunting a gang of killers who many believe to be heroes. But before he can confront them, Max Wolfe learns some painful truths about the fragile line between good and evil, innocence and guilt, justice and retribution.

Although a standalone video, this had to retain style elements from the previous trailer for his book, The Murder Bag. Recurring features like the blood river Thames/threads running through the narrative. The latest installment sees references to London and features of the protagonist Detective Max Wolfe; his daughter, his dog, his apartment in Farringdon. The former site of Newgate Gaol. Britain's most famous hangman Albert Pierepoint. It all comes together to conjure the image of an ancient British justice system, solid and immovable, steeped in history.
